Do you love to swim and hate to exercise? You know you want to lose the weight but don’t know where to begin what you may think as a long, agonizing workout.

Swimming may be the key to helping you lose that embarrassing, unwanted weight!

Swimming could bring you that amazing, sexy physique you’ve always wanted. Yes, it will help burn belly fat and help you get flat abs.

What swimming does is combine cardiovascular stimulation with strength stimulation. You will end up toning your whole body and building muscles by doing this simple exercise.

First of all, you need to focus on swimming as a fun sport. Your workout should be your main priority! Do this by making your workout intensive yet fun. You can keep switching your swimming routines to keep yourself from becoming bored.

Change your pace while swimming. Start with a fast paced swim and then switch to a more leisure swim. By switching your paces you will put your body through different workout intensities which, in turn, will allow you to burn your excess fat faster.

Your metabolism will kick into a higher gear and break down the calories that you’ve eaten. If you keep on swimming on a regular basis, you will soon lose more weight than you thought possible.

Burning fat never became so easy as it has by making swimming your main exercise. Remember, no matter how frustrating it may be, find an exercise that you can do and enjoy at the same time, and you will lose weight and build those sexy abs in no time!

Aren’t you tired of going to the pool and never taking off your shirt?

During the last several years, an exercise program proving to be increasingly popular is Pilates. Its main focus is on the core postural muscle groups that aid in maintaining the balance of the body. These groups are essential in supporting the spine.

If you happen to opt for Pilates as your exercise regimen, you will discover that it instructs you in becoming aware of the spine’s neutral alignment. It will also direct your focus on adding strength to the deep postural muscles that will assist in sustaining this alignment. These muscles are of vital importance in helping you to relieve and prevent pain in the back.

The Pilates Exercise Program

The developer of the Pilates exercise system was Joseph Pilates. This system had been designed in the early 1900 not only for improvement of his own health but also that of other World War I soldiers who were hospitalized. Later, Pilates made used the resistance of springs in his rehabilitation regimens for hospitalized patients. He then incorporated the use of springs into machines. Now the special equipment Joseph Pilates designed is being used in the Pilates exercise system.

When it first surfaced, the Pilates exercise program was mainly utilized by professional dancers. They had an appreciation for the improvement it added to strength, balance, and flexibility. With the rediscovery of Pilates in the 1980s, it has become a form of exercise that is quite popular.

Pilates Machines

The resistance of springs is used in Pilates machines to create more effort. The primary piece of the Pilates machine is called the Reformer. This is a sliding platform that is anchored at one end of the frame with springs. You are able to move the platform either by a push off from the stationary bar or by a pull on the ropes. When you do Pilates exercises with the Reformer, they become quite challenging because you must move the platform but at the same time maintain your balance on a surface that moves. This is a true balancing act!

The Cadillac is what another Pilates machine is called. It is comprised of a platform with padding that has a frame similar to a cage above it. Hanging from this frame are several bars or straps that are attached by springs.
The Wunda Chair is yet another Pilates machine. Its composition is just a bench-like platform that is small with a bar attached by springs. The Pilates exercises can be done from a standing position on the floor, lying down, or sitting or standing on the bench and pushing on the bar. You will likely see a number of different Pilates machines if you go to a studio devoted to Pilates exercise.

Mat Exercises

Group classes are where mat exercises are normally taught. Strengthening the trunk and hip muscles are the primary focus of mat exercises. This also increases spine and hip flexibility. Compared to Pilates machines, mat exercises have more limitations.
Recently, it appears as though Pilates have merged with other techniques, such as with the use of the exercise ball or yoga. This gives more creativity while one integrates the principles of Pilates into a larger number of mat exercises.

A fitness heart rate monitor will enable you to perfect your training or exercise session to the maximum beneficial level. These wireless systems allow you to track your heart rate whether in the gym or running down a country road.

There are four important guidelines for conditioning that everyone should take into account when exercising.

How Often: It is recommended by the American heart Association that you exercise at least 3-4 days per week in order to maintain cardiovascular fitness. If you have other goals such as weight loss, you will achieve your goal faster with more frequent exercise. Whether it’s 3 days or 6 days remember that your ultimate goal should be to make exercise a lifetime habit. Many people are successful staying with a fitness program if they set aside a specific time of day to exercise. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in the morning before breakfast, during lunch hour or while watching the evening news. What’s more important is that it’s a time that allows you to keep a schedule, and a time when you won’t be interrupted. To be successful with your fitness program, you have to make it a priority in your life.

How Long: For aerobic exercise benefits, it is recommended that you exercise from between 25-60 minutes per session. BUT, start slowly and gradually increase your exercise times. If you’ve been sedentary during the past year, it may be a good idea to keep your exercise times to as little as five minutes initially. Your body will need time to adjust to the new activity. If your goal is weight loss, a longer exercise session at lower intensities has beed found to be most effective. A workout time of 45 minutes or more is recommended for best weight loss results.

How Hard: How hard you workout is also determined by your goals. If you’re preparing for a 5K run, you will probably work out at a higher intensity than if your goal is general fitness. Regardless of your long term goals always begin an exercise program at low intensity. Aerobic exercise does not have to be painful to be beneficial! There are two ways to monitor your exercise intensity. The first is by a fitness heart rate monitor that will give you continuous details about your heart rate and exercise level.

The second method of measuring your exercise intensity is quite simple. If you cannot carry on a conversation without gasping – you’re working too hard. When this happens slow down a bit until you can talk normally.

It is important to always be aware of the intensity level of your exercise program for the best possible results from your workout.

If you have ever experienced a migraine attack then you know that it is much more than a bad headache.

Very often, the sufferer experiences mood changes and alterations in behaviour and this can occur hours or even days before the actual onset of a migraine attack.

About a third of all migraine sufferers experience an ‘aura’ causing them to have real difficulty in focusing.

The eyes become very sensitive to light and even slight noise can become really unbearable.

There is usually a throbbing, pulsating pain in the head and often there is nausea and vomiting.

Sooner or later, sleep brings some form of relief, but the individual is left feeling debilitated and weak for quite a long time afterwards.

Medically speaking, migraine is considered to be an ‘idiopathic’ disorder. What this really means, of course, is that medical science simply does not know the actual cause of migraine.

It is known that serotonin levels are reduced in those suffering from migraine attacks, though the reason why this is so remains a mystery to medical science.

In the USA it is estimated that more than thirty five million people suffer from migraine, while in the UK the number is in excess of 6 million.

Migraine, in fact, is the commonest know neuroligical condition.

The first thing to do when you experience a migraine attack, of course, is to visit your doctor in order to have a full and proper medical check up.

You need to be quite sure that your migraine is not merely the symptom of some underlying disorder.

The usual medical response is to treat the symptoms with pharmeceuticals – usually containing narcotics and barbituates – meant to alleviate and diminish the symptoms of migraine.

Such an approach may provide short term help, but it is certainly not a cure.

In fact, research has demonstrated that individuals treated with this kind of pharmeceutical approach have a greater frequency of migraine headaches as a consequence.

If you are experiencing migraine headaches and have already tried conventional medicine, then maybe it’s time you looked elsewhere.

The expertly trained and experienced hypnotherapist understands that the real and actual reason for the migraine often resides in the past.

Originating from the subconscious mind, a migraine episode may have been triggered as some kind of defence mechanism, intended to protect the individual from what was perceived to be an even more stressful situation or experience.

Modern advanced hypnotherapy may help you to uncover the real and underlying reasons for your discomfort – and then do something about it.

The link between stress and migraine onset is well established and effective hypnotherapy can teach you how to deal with stress in a more effective way.

The ability of hypnosis to work with the subconscious and unconscious mind in order to control the contraction and restriction of blood vessels, thereby allowing blood to flow more freely to the brain, is also a way in which this alternative approach can be very effective.

When you are tired of the traditional approach to your migraine headaches then perhaps it would pay to consider working with an alternative practitioner, someone well versed in treating migraine with advanced therapeutic hypnosis.

When all is said and done, the only thing you have to lose is your migraine headaches.

Snowboarding is an exhilarating and amazing experience. Once you master the basics, you might want to expand your experience by taking it up to the next level by learning how to maneuver snowboarding rails. Think you are ready? Let’s start by learning about the different types of snowboarding rails there are and how each of them differ.

The first type of snowboarding rail is a flat rail. Flat rails are a few inches wide and have a flat surface. Flat rails come in a variety of lengths. A short rail is typically six to eight feet long and is the ideal rail for a beginner, especially since they are only a couple of inches high. As you become more and more experienced, you can attempt rails a little higher off the ground until you have them mastered as well.

Another type of rail is a box rail. Box rails are wide, sometimes as wide as your snowboard. However, since there is a wider surface, there is more of an area that you could become injured on if you were to fall on it. Learn flat rails first and then advance to box rails.

Some of the advanced rails are curved, for example, some are arched, some shaped like a giant letter C and others have ups and downs like a roller coaster! These rails are definitely for the more accomplished snowboarder. They also come in various lengths, some can go on for 100 feet or more.

Where can you find rails? Most of your ski parks have a variety but if you want to hone your skills before going public, you can buy or build your own rails. Once you choose a design of the rail type and height you want to use, you can begin to build or purchase one to suit your needs. Keep your designs simple until you master the technique of riding it and once you get comfortable, expand what you can do on it before you move onto something different.

Snowboarding is an excellent way to develop balance and tone and can be a wonderful form of physical challenge. You can continue to develop your skills and become more and more creative with what you master. Challenge yourself to learn and progress so that you can show off your skills!

When beginning your snowboarding experience, you will need to know about a wide variety of snowboard packages. Packages can combine things that are important for your trip and save you money. Here are a few examples of what is available.

Some sporting good stores offer packages that include your snowboard, a pair of boots and your bindings. By combining all three into one package, you can save money. You can coordinate your colors so that you look great out on the slopes and you can ensure a proper fit by staying within the same manufacturer’s line. Check out what the shops near you have available so that you can take advantage of the savings.

Some parks offer beginning snowboard packages. These can often include lift tickets, equipment rentals and lessons. This is a great way to combine everything you need. Especially if you aren’t sure if snowboarding is for you yet. You can try everything out without making a commitment. Another great advantage is that they are geared to allow you run of the beginner areas of the mountain so you aren’t tempted to try more than you can take on. I know how tempting it can be, but trust me, wait till you are ready!

Some snowboard packages allow you to snowboard at several different parks. This is great for the more advanced boarder because it gives you more variety and allows you to experience what each park has to offer.

Resorts often offer packages for their patrons that include your stay and lift tickets to the local ski/snow parks. One of the best advantages is that you can board till your hearts content and then you don’t have far to go to return to your lodgings to get changed and enjoy a steaming cup of hot chocolate before a raging fire. It’s the perfect way to end a day out on the slopes. Can it get any better? Wait, I think it can!

For the ultimate snowboard package, contact your local travel agent. Fly to various parts of Europe like France, Austria and Switzerland. Packages include your flight, lodgings, equipment rentals, lift tickets and most importantly, the experience of a lifetime!! Get your passport ready and get packed!!

Brain Gym® is a national organization that brings together folks that are interested in improving their brain function for multi-day retreats in states across the country. During a retreat, participants benefit from mind and body stimulation that can improve memory, stimulate thinking, reduce stress, and lead to a more balanced way of thinking.

Curios about the brain exercises? Brain Gym® focuses on improving creativity and brain function through movement and balance. There are 26 easy activities that integrate the body and mind included in the program. These activities are said to lead to dramatic improvements in concentration, memory, reading, writing, organizing, listening, and physical coordination.

Participants in Brain Gym® programs learn about movements such as fluid Edu-K movements based on the circle, spiral and Lazy 8. This is not a new research technique or trendy solution to solving common memory problems. In fact, the organization began in the 1970’s by educators Dr. Paul Dennison and Gail E. Dennison, who were looking for effective ways to improve performance in individuals who were considered to be learning disabled. Through their research, the Dennisons developed a brand new approach to education called Educational Kinesiology (Edu-K), which they refer to as “learning through movement.”

This educational technique is used in more than 80 countries and is taught in all types of schools to all types of students. One of the major benefits of the Brain Gym® organization is that they are highly focused on research, particularly when it comes to how movement impacts the brain.

The organization publishes papers by researchers, such as The Effect of PACE on Self-Reported Anxiety and Performance in First-Year Nursing Students. In this paper, by Jan Irving, Ph.D., the students that used PACE principals experienced an almost 70% reduction in their stress levels and increase their performance on tests by almost 20%.

In order to learn more about Brain Gym® exercises and how to do them, it is important to enroll in a class or private session, which can be found in locations across the country. Participants can enroll in courses such as Dennison Whole Brain Learning, or the Physiological Basis of Edu-K, which are designed to help participants learn to integrate their senses and connect them with movement, which can lead to optimal brain development.

Brain Gym® may be used primarily as a tool for educators with their students, but all individuals are welcome to enroll in retreats, courses, and private workshops. Through participation in the activities, you should learn how to improve your vision and use movement to increase your creativity and memory.

Check them out – they’re worth a shot if they can increase your brain’s capacity for the long term.

Warranty is perhaps to come first in consideration whenever you decide to buy an elliptical trainer. In fact, the duration of warranty somehow indicates the quality and longevity of any machine.

Sole Fitness, to compare with the others, is a new one among the elliptical trainers. It offers a wide range of warranty for any price group and that is how it is setting a strong foot in the market. It is offering a straightway 5 years’ warranty on all its parts as well as its electronics and 2 years’ of warranty on labor.

Do you know the importance of the warranty in the event of buying any fitness article? Firstly, the replacement option makes you tension free if the equipment is found faulty as because, the cost of the parts and the fees of the servicing person are so high. Secondly, it is the warranty span of a machine which can give you an idea about its quality.

It makes sense if you find the basic economical concept behind any warranty offer. Anything that is built to last longer, the product offers an extended warranty. On the contrary, if it is of low quality the product offers shorter span of warranty or else, the servicing cost would eat up the company’s profits.

Now you can make out the reason of offering of 90-day warranty for parts and servicing with low-cost elliptical trainers. The makers themselves are doubtful of the longevity of those products.

Apart from the warranty offers, Sole Fitness produces some of the best elliptical trainers. In a practical test, I was much impressed by the smoothness of its motion and quietness of its performance even then when the resistance is cranked up. Then the 20″ stride is also appreciable to me. You could get a bouncy motion and feel constrained in the time of your workout with those elliptical trainers that have a stride between 15″ to 19″. A 20″ stride elliptical trainer is must for one who is around 6′ but it is equally comfortable for average heights too.

Sole Fitness is a highly reputed company which has bagged a number of “Best Buy” accolades for their treadmills. “One of the best fold ups on the planet” is an esteemed compliment from the most fitness gurus for the folding treadmills manufactured by the Sole Fitness.

Moreover, the Hilton chain of hotels has set the treadmills of this company in their rooms for physical activity. This statement proves their commercial as well as qualitative success. The elliptical trainers they make are of same quality as their treadmills are.
